Educated, aspired, and revered love for her family,
Donna Dubois two years ago opened up her Somersworth based Dee-n-Dee
Business Services to be closer to her two children. "I
wanted to be able to stay home with my kids, be there for them,
take them where they needed to go, and have a good job with
decent money coming in," said Dubois, who grew up here
in Somersworth.
With a paralegal degree from Hesser College, previously
Dubois worked for a Portsmouth law firm for 15 years and then
processed documents for a realty in Alton. She took her exceptional
experience and skills to form her own practice.
Through Dee-n-Dee, Dubois helps with the closing
side of real estate. "Title companies I worked for contact
me to do a closing for them," said Dubois. "I help
clients sign the closing paperwork and explain the fine details."
Her previous real estate job in Alton helps back her up. With
strong connections between them, they trust her ability to close
their sales such that they keep her busy enough throughout Strafford
County.
Dubois is happy to keep her business low key,
servicing her original intent of having more time for her children.
"It is good part-time work, especially if you are a single
parent," said Dubois, who, though she may not be single,
has a husband who works 12-15 hour days at Liberty Mutual, making
her job even more beneficial.
Where the future takes Dubois, she is uncertain
as of yet. When her children go off to college there will not
be as much a need for her to be close to home. She may consider
a completely different profession field. One option is nutrition,
as she currently is striving towards a nutritional degree. After
helping her mother treat cancer, she is driven to aid others
in eating right, discovering what foods cause different results
in your body, and how to avoid problems. "Right now I feel
I made a good decision, the right one," concluded Dubois.
