Richard A. Jacques
Berwick, Maine - Richard A. Jacques, 75 of 34 Sawmill Hill Road died quietly at his home on Thursday July 22, 2004 after a period of failing health in the presence of his family. Richard was the last of 13 children, born November 30th 1928 in Somersworth, NH. He was the son of Augustine E. and Anna (Plante) Jacques. Richard was raised in Somersworth and was a graduate of St. Martin Academy. He lived in Berwick for over 55 years with his wife Mary (Tarr). Together they raised 10 children.

Richard was retired from the PNSY in 1989 where he worked for 10 years, before that he worked for Robert’s Shoe in Somersworth, NH for 27 years. He was also employed for a time with Boulanger Paving Co.

Mr. Jacques was an active communicant of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Somersworth all of his life. He loved his wife, children and grand children very much. He also enjoyed taking long rides nightly with his daughter Linda to go and visit other family members. Richard loved to read the Bible, work in his garden, listen to Gospel music and take care of his bird feeders. Our father will be remembered as a loving husband and father with a great sense of humor, kind heart and gentle smile. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Family members include his remaining 9 children; Robert A Jacques and his wife Connie, Alfred J. Jacques and his wife Susan all of South Berwick, Linda J. Jacques of Berwick, David A. Jacques and wife Kathleen of Lebanon, Richard J. (Ben) Jacques and his wife Murielle of Berwick, Darlene M. Irons of Somersworth, Elizabeth A. Maker of Berwick, Michael J. Jacques and his wife Catherine of Berwick and Lisa A Scarborough and her husband Michael of Bremington, WA; 20 grandchildren and nine great grand children and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was predeceased by all of his brothers and sisters. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Diane M. Haines, who died in 1989. His wife Mary (Tarr) Jacques predeceased him in March 2003.

Kenneth K. Luscomb
Somersworth, NH -Kenneth K. Luscomb, Sr., 74, husband of Rosemary “Pat” (Vigneault) Luscomb, of 6 Crystal Springs Mobile Home Park, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. He lost a courageous battle of failing health and kidney failure with his wife of 30 years and loving children at his side.

Kenneth was born in Lynn, MA October 21, 1929 the son of Arthur W. and Helen (Thompson) Luscomb. Following the death of his father he was raised by his mother and his stepfather, Fred Drew of Brookfield, NH. He attended local schools and grew up in Brookfield. He then moved to Milton Mills where he lived for 30 years, He worked at local businesses, New England Lumber Co., Hurd’s Lumber Co., twenty five years at Green Tannery and 30 years at Clarostat Manufacturing of Dover from where he retired in 1990. Besides being a loving husband and father, he loved going out in his boat fishing, and he hunted when he was able. He belonged to the Milton Mills Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed building model wooden airplanes and wood working. He was an avid race car fan. He also loved visiting with people and telling a good story. Kenneth touched the hearts of so many people with kindness, love , his personality, smile and a firm handshake.

Family members include his loving wife Rosemary “Pat” (Vigneault) Luscomb of Somersworth;the girls, Penny and Mandie; his five loving children, Helen Glennon and her husband Wesley of Bonita Springs, FL, Karen Ryan and her husband Joseph of East Wakefield, Kenneth Luscomb, Jr., of Bonita Springs, FL, Cindy and her husband Thomas Maier of Wicky Wachie, FL, and Wanda Holmes and her husband John of Rollinsford; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Paul and her husband Kenneth of Sanbornville, Heather Feddern and her husband Mark of Chocorua, Michelle Glaude of Rochester, Tammy Mooney of Rochester, Joshua Luscomb of Loudon, Jodi Luscomb of Dover, Julie Luscomb of Ossipee, David “D.J.” Crawford, Jr. of Portsmouth, Amy Crawford of East Wakefield, Christopher Luscomb of Sanford, ME, Chantel Holmes of Rollinsford, and Kurt Holmes of Rollinsford; nine great grandchildren, Heather and Kenneth Paul of Sanbornville, Zachery Feddern and Megan Feddern of Chocorua, Krystal Atkinson of Rochester, Matthew and Kendra Fogg of Rochester, Brittany Cormier of Rochester, and Alexis Mooney of Rochester; two great great grandchildren, Cooper Luscomb of Dover and Kennedie Luscomb of Sanford.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Marjorie Viollette.

Agnes Sheldon
Somersworth, NH -Agnes Loretta Sheldon 82 yrs a resident of Tri City Road Somersworth, NH formerly of Berwick, Me died Monday July 12, 2004 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH after a long illness.

She was born in Brookfield Center, CT. on February 21, 1922 a daughter of William Francis and Agnes Camilla (McKenna) Hollace. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Dover.
She was a homemaker for most of her life.

Agnes enjoyed travel and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her brother William Hollace and her sister Eleanor Metivier.

She is survived by her husband of 63 yrs Lester Sheldon of Somersworth, NH., two sons Lester J. Sheldon of Kittery, Me and Lawrence E. Sheldon of Denver, CO. A daughter Doreen A. Rembert of Portland, ME and 5 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick, Me.
